Malaysia Airlines Celebrates Chinese New Year with Festive Video 

KLIA, 25 January 2019: Malaysia Airlines today released a special festive video in conjunction with the Lunar New Year,  highlighting the most important tradition surrounding the festivity, the reunion.    

The two and a half minute video titled ‘The Spirit of Hospitality’ also displays the essence of Malaysian Hospitality, which is intergral to the Malaysia Airlines’s experience.    

The video tells a story of a Malaysia Airlines cabin crew, who had just returned from his duty while he waits for his sister at the airport. To pass the time, he meets some travellers and lets his Malaysian Hospitality shine through the journeys of others. 

Malaysia Airlines’ Group Chief Executive Officer, Captain Izham Ismail said “We take immense pride in ensuring our guests receive the very best of  Malaysian Hospitality. All 13,000 of our employees including our cabin crew work very hard to ensure that every festive travels, be it going home or discovering new adventures, is done as seamlessly as possible, the MH way.  

This is perfectly captured in our Chinese New Year video which is centered around reunions, and gestures of kindness (Malaysian Hospitality) in making every traveler’s journey to their destination, a great one.”

The celebration continues onboard as the airline will also be offering special New Year dishes on selected flights to London, Hong Kong, Taipei and China from 3 until 10 February 2019. 

These include traditional Yee Sang with Salmon Tataki (appetiser), Fried Garoupa with Roselle Flower or Tofu and Vegetable balls with Ginkgo Nut, served with steamed rice as main course for Business Class and Business Suite guests.   

Meanwhile, Economy Class guests will also be able to enjoy Yee Sang with Jelly Fish (appetiser) and Sweet & Sour Fish or Chicken with Sesame Sour Plum Sauce served with rice.
