Amal by Malaysia Airlines, Into Taqwa Signs MOU to promote Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage travel
Kuala Lumpur, 14 June 2019: Amal by Malaysia Airlines, a pilgrim-centric service dedicated for Hajj and Umrah, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Into Taqwa Malaysia, a non-profit organisation focused on Islamic outreach initiatives.
The agreement was signed between Hazman Hilmi Sallahuddin, Chief Executive Officer of Amal, and Fara Othman, Founder of Into Taqwa in Kuala Lumpur. The signing was witnessed by Shazrina Azman, or popularly known as MizzNina, Into Taqwa’s ambassador, and Capt Dato’ Zulkifly Zainal Abidin, Amal’s Head of Flight Ops. Into Taqwa was established in 2012, with the vision to ‘Instill taqwa into the hearts of the Ummah’. Based in Kuala Lumpur, Into Taqwa runs various programmes and initiatives across Malaysia, Brunei the Middle East and the United Kingdom, through strategic collaborations with local partners and certified trainers.
Through this partnership, Amal and Into Taqwa intends to collaborate in promoting Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage travel to Muslims within the region with emphasis on creating awareness amongst the Muslim youths. Both Amal and Into Taqwa also intend to explore other collaboration opportunities, which include integrating Into Taqwa’s religious media content into the airline’s aircraft In Flight Entertainment (IFE) system to further enrich the experience of pilgrims on board. Hazman Hilmi Sallahuddin, CEO of Amal, said “We are delighted to collaborate with Into Taqwa to reach out to more Muslims within the region, targeting especially the Muslim youth. With Into Taqwa’s strength in media content development and programming, we hope to work together in influencing more Muslims to perform Hajj and Umrah, and to travel with Amal for their journey to the Holy Land.”
