New Distribution Capability (NDC) is a travel industry-supported programme launched by IATA. NDC is for the development and market adoption of a new, XML-based data transmission standard. The NDC Standard enhances communication capabilities between airlines and travel agents. It is open to any third party, intermediary, IT provider or non-IATA member, to implement and use.
- Essentially, NDC is a new distribution channel. It allows airlines to connect directly to Travel Agents/OTAs/Aggregators through an API.
- When an airline connects directly to sellers, they can provide more types of content, greater personalisation of products & higher chances of upselling.
Benefits of NDC?
NDC is an enabler to drive revenue, reduce costs and increase customer engagement. NDC allows airlines to modernise the way products are retailed to travel agents, corporates and travellers.
MH plans to go live with NDC phase 1 by tentatively January 2023 with 2 pilot agents.

Yes, you can still implement NDC with MH by connecting via Amadeus Agent UI. Please approach your respective regional manager(s) for discussion.

For MH own NDC Seller UI (NDC Portal for Agent) it will be on v18.1. This MH NDC portal for Travel Agent without their own UI & non-API
Although the minimum requirement from IATA is v17.2 but MH will be on the version 21.3, thus the Travel Agent needs to upgrade their version. This is required in order to support the latest NDC capability and functionality. "

MH is open to negotiating incentive arrangements with agents. You may approach your respective account manager(s) for discussion.
The NDC agreement details specific terms and conditions, including negotiated commercial arrangements that must be agreed upon before an agent can transact through the channel.
Agents can work with MH to develop personalised offers tailored to their customers.
Currently, interline fares are not included.
Approximately 1-2 weeks. However, this also depends on the technology providers’ abilities to expedite access for you.
The NDC agreement will continue until it is terminated by either party.
Some of the benefits that customers will gain are personalised/differentiated fares & offers (including additional Ancillary services/products). With these benefits, it can cater to each individual's wants and needs.

"We are engaging with our API provider team, Amadeus (1A), to further verify to understand on this type of NEGO IT/BT fare not being supported. To assist in validation of this IT/BT fare, we are in the midst of working with our Pricing Team to file a test IT/BT fares.
As for the UK nett market fares and TBF - we need to test out certain filing conditions to be met for these types of fares. We will re validate again and get back to you as soon as possible
For the rest of the fares such the NMF/Published fares, student fares and VFR fares (which filed in ATPCO) are available/supported as intent. "
Depending on their NDC connectivity either through Direct API or MH NDC portal or Aggregator, however this is more towards Travel Agent’s own development cost.
