Malaysia Airlines is Indonesia’s Leading ASEAN Airline
KLIA, 14 December 2017 – Malaysia Airlines was named Indonesia’s Leading ASEAN Airline at the 8th Indonesia Travel Tourism Awards 2017/18 recently. Featuring an impressive list of travel brands across the Indonesian tourism industry, the airline was among 160 nominees across over 50 categories.
Receiving on behalf of Malaysia Airlines was Regional Manager South East Asia, Yuzrizal Mohd Yousuf. Commenting on the win, Chief Commercial Officer, Arved von Zur Muehlen said, “We are deeply honoured to be given this accolade by Indonesia’s ITTA Foundation. We currently operate 49x weekly to Jakarta, 21x weekly to Denpasar Bali, 14x weekly to Medan and most recently added 7xweekly to Surabaya. With this win, we are happy to celebrate and reaffirm the strong ties between Malaysia and Indonesia, two countries who share similar cultures, food and language.”
Arved also attributed the win to the ongoing effort by the Malaysia Airlines team. He added, “This win will not be possible without the continued support from our customers and our team who work tirelessly to ensure we remain on track in our journey towards both product and service excellence. It is a huge milestone for us as we continue breaking new ground to position ourselves as a premium carrier.”
Organised by ITTA Foundation, the awards celebrate outstanding Indonesian travel and hospitality industry players who fulfill the quality and hospitality expectation as well as being models for the emerging travel industry. The recipients of the awards should prove as leading brands in the industry and has demonstrated exemplary service towards customers.
Contenders include Indonesia’s leading hotel brands, airlines and luxury resorts.
