Malaysia Airlines partners with Traveloka and Holiday Tours & Travel for the first phase of the New Distribution Capability (NDC) implementation

KLIA, 17 April 2023 – Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) is pleased to introduce MHPlus, Malaysia Airlines' new distribution capability (NDC) platform which provides an advanced digital solution to enhance communication capabilities and enable closer cooperation between MAG’s airlines and its trade partners. MHPlus aims to embed a streamlined transmission process across the travel industry distribution chain.      For phase one implementation, Southeast Asia’s leading travel platform and award-winning business travel agency in Malaysia, Traveloka and Holiday Tours & Travel (HTT), have partnered with Malaysia Airlines to enjoy greater access to air content [1] and rich content [2] , direct marketing promotions with travel agents and partners, personalised product offerings and promotions tailored based on varying customer profiles. MHPlus is targeted to go live in the second half of 2023.   Group Managing Director of MAG, Captain Izham Ismail , said “We are delighted to introduce MHPlus and MHAgentPlus into our family of products aimed at providing personalisation and enhancing communication capabilities for our travel agents, partners and customers alike. We are pleased to launch this pilot phase together with our partners as it marks an important step forward in our NDC journey to enhance the user and traveller experience.”     To deliver a wealth of connectivity options for travel partners to leverage on its booking platform, MHAgentPlus is the airline’s NDC Seller UI which provides easy and direct access to the airline’s robust content and dynamic offerings. This possibility revolutionises the airline’s distribution process; granting third-party travel partners access to Rich Content such as Fare Families through the MHAgentPlus booking portal.      Iko Putera, CEO of Transport, Traveloka, said, “Traveloka’s partnership with Malaysia Airlines underlines a common goal – to strengthen our position in the regional and global market while constantly improving our services and offerings for consumers. With travel recovery in full swing, we must equip the industry with the tools to thrive as we once again welcome the world to our doorsteps. Collaboration drives progress, and is at the center of all we do, making it a powerful enabler for the next era of travel.”   HTT stated, "We are thrilled to embark on this journey with the Malaysia Aviation Group as an early adopter of their advanced new distribution capability implementation. With close to five decades of experience in Malaysia and beyond, this partnership reinforces our strength in providing personalised and unique experiences for both business and leisure travellers. We remain committed to staying aligned with evolving market needs to create more value for our clients. This partnership is a testament to our vision of becoming the leading experiential travel brand in Southeast Asia and inspiring travellers to explore the world their way."     NDC is a travel industry-supported programme by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) that allows airlines to modernise the way products are retailed to travel agents and travellers with curated services and enhanced product offerings, therefore improving the overall customer experience.
