Exempted Items If you have special needs items such as medicine, baby milk or food, or items to cater for special dietary requirements during your flight, you can bring them on board with you. Do ensure you have the required documents that show you have special medical or dietary needs and present them when passing through airport security. Families travelling with children below the age of seven may bring baby milk or food into the cabin. Liquids, aerosols, and gels (LAGs) purchased on the day of your travels from the Airport Duty Free Shops or on-board the aircraft are allowed in the cabin. Do ensure that your purchases are packed in sealed plastic bags and the proofs of purchase for them are in clear view so it’s easier and quicker for airport officers to check, verify and clear you to bring them on board.
Only AVMED-approved dry liquid nitrogen shippers carrying human embryo samples are permitted as checked or cabin baggage.
If you need to use solid carbon dioxide (dry ice) to pack perishables (which are not subject to Dangerous Goods Regulations) in your cabin baggage, please note that the dry ice amount should not exceed 2.5kg (5lb) per passenger. You will also need to declare the dry ice as cabin baggage when booking or checking in. Seafood (fresh or frozen) cannot be checked in and may only be carried on board as cabin baggage. This is subject to the quarantine regulations of your destination country and provided the seafood is properly packed (the use of crushed ice for this purpose is not permitted) and meets cabin baggage size and weight requirements.

Important Cabin Baggage Safety Guidelines
For your safety and the safety of others, please follow these carry-on baggage rules : Do not place baggage in aisles or near emergency exits, as this may block evacuation routes. Passengers in bulkhead seats (no seat in front) must store all carry-on items in the overhead bin. Follow all instructions from cabin crew regarding baggage storage and safety compliance. Failure to comply may result in delays or safety risks during the flight.
Cabin Baggage Acceptance Policy
Cabin baggage may only be accepted if it: Is suitable for air carriage in terms of its weight, size, and nature. Can be stowed under the seat in front of you or in the overhead compartment. Is appropriately packed. Complies with airport security and safety requirements. Restrictions: Certain items may not be accepted as cabin baggage due to their weight, size, or nature. Passengers are required to store their cabin baggage in the overhead compartment or under the seat in front of them. Any cabin baggage or duty-free items that cannot be stowed in the overhead compartments or under the seats (including items removed from a passenger) must be loaded into the aircraft cargo hold. For security reasons, many countries impose restrictions on the carriage of liquids, aerosols, and gels in cabin baggage. Items refused during security screening must either be checked into the cargo hold in accordance with Malaysia Airlines' policies and procedures or be refused carriage entirely if they are not permitted in checked baggage. For Dangerous Goods that are permitted or prohibited in cabin baggage, please refer to the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR).
