Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) is pleased to announce its participation as a member of the CEO Action Network (CAN) – a coalition of over 70 leaders focused on sustainability advocacy, capacity building, action and performance. Through dedicated working groups, workstreams and active members driving bespoke initiatives, CAN aspires to catalyse its members toward shaping future-ready and ESG-integrated business models and ecosystems. As part of its involvement, MAG will actively contribute to the Diversity Equity Inclusion (DEI) workstream. This initiative will engage various stakeholders including supply chain partners, regulators and policymakers, government, as well as peers across various sectors to forge partnerships that are committed to responsible business practices and sustainable development. The workstream aims to raise awareness about the principles and business case for DEI while strengthening policies and strategic interventions. This initiative aligns with MAG’s commitment to the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) 25by2025 initiative aimed at improving women’s representation in the aviation sector. MAG has also pledged to achieve advanced maturity levels in three key areas – Governance, Environment and People – by 2030. The Group is committed to reaching aspiration benchmarks across the three pillars, reinforcing its dedication to responsible and sustainable business practices. Datuk Captain Izham Ismail, Group Managing Director of MAG, said, “We are proud to join the CEO Action Network, focusing on establishing collective commitments to climate action and social stewardship. This initiative aligns seamlessly with our sustainability ambitions, particularly our decarbonisation goals and our commitment to creating a positive socio-economic impact. Our participation in CAN’s DEI workstream complements our broader mission to empower female representation in our workforce and the aviation sector through the 25by2025 initiative. We are pleased to be making great progress in this aspect, having exceeded our target with 35% overall participation of women in our workforce to date, with 50% in senior management positions. By collaborating with other key leaders and organisations, we aim to amplify our efforts in promoting gender equality, enhancing diversity and ensuring that every individual is given the opportunity to thrive. We firmly believe that diversity is a strength that drives innovation and excellence.” As part of this commitment, the Group will continuously monitor and report on the progress of key initiatives that are being implemented through its annual sustainability report. These efforts are designed to drive tangible outcomes from collaborative partnerships, ensuring measurable impact.
