Sarawak

Category of passengers allowed entry

  • 1. Only passengers with valid approval from the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) are allowed entry into Sarawak. Please click here for detailed information.

 

Travel Procedures & Quarantine Order

 

Entry Requirements

  • 1. Submit the entry application through "enterSarawak" and complete the e-Health Declaration Form before departure via http://sdmc.sarawak.gov.my
  • 2. Undergo RT-PCR TEST three (3) days before entering Sarawak.
  • 3. Passengers travelling from oversea transiting via Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to Sarawak are required to:
    • a. undergo a 10-day mandatory quarantine at designated centres upon arrival in KLIA
    • b. observe additional four (4) days under home quarantine upon arrival into Sarawak.
  •  

  • Note: Sarawakians are exempted from observing this requirement and can proceed on their connecting flights within 24 hours of their arrival in KLIA. However, a wristband will be given upon their arrival in Sarawak.
  •  

  • 4. Passengers travelling from domestic destinations to Sarawak must undergo a 14-day mandatory quarantine at designated centres upon arrival in Sarawak.
  • 5. Any applicable costs must be borne by passengers except Sarawakians, that will be covered by the Sarawak State Government.

Exit Requirements

  • 1. Sarawakians travelling on Essential Services duty to Peninsular Malaysia are required to complete the “enterSarawak” application and the e-Health Declaration Form (e-DF) at http://sdmc.sarawak.gov.my.
  • 2. Passengers travelling for work and need to return to Sarawak are required to obtain approval from the respective Heads of Departments and attach the supporting documents such as the official letter to the meeting in their application before being allowed to return without undergoing quarantine at the designated quarantine centres.

 

 

Sabah

Category of passengers allowed entry

  • 1. Malaysian
    • a. Citizens of Sabah holding MyKad with letter code “H”
    • b. Spouse to Sabahan and dependents must have Long-Term Immigration Malaysia Passes, issued by Malaysian Immigration Department, Sabah; OR proof of marriage and birth certificate of dependent (not exceeding 18 years old).
    • c. Non-Sabahan holding a valid Immigration Malaysia pass issued by the Department of Immigration Malaysia, Sabah, including Sabah Permanent Resident, or students of any institution in the State of Sabah.
    • d. Working under Essential Services with valid Immigration Malaysia pass and issued by Sabah’s Department of Immigration Malaysia.
    • e. Federal Government personnel under essential services only who are based, transferred or are currently working in Sabah,
      • i. Having endorsement for Section 66(1) (d) Immigration Act 1959/63 by Sabah Immigration
      • ii. Malaysian Armed Forces (Angkatan Tentera Malaysia)
  • 2. Foreigners
    • a. Spouse to Sabahan and dependents must have Long-Term Immigration Malaysia Passes, issued by Malaysian Immigration Department, Sabah; OR proof of marriage and birth certificate of dependent (not exceeding 18 years old).
    • b. Permanent Resident Holding MyPR with code "H" / Entry Permit Card / Entry Permit Endorsement in Passport.
    • c. Valid Work Pass holder under Essential Services or economic and Industry activities issued by the Malaysian Immigration Department, Sabah
    • d. Student studying in any institution in the State of Sabah with a valid Student Pass issued by the Department of Immigration Malaysia, Sabah
    • e. Valid Temporary Pass
      • i. MyKAS Sabah
      • ii.IMM13 Sabah.

Travel Procedures & Quarantine Order

 

Entry Requirements

Passengers travelling to Sabah are to:

  • 1. Undergo RT-PCR or RTK-Ag detection test swabs COVID-19 three (3) days before travelling into the state.
  • 2. Fill in the health declaration and risk assessment forms. The e-Health Declaration Form can be found at http://sm.jknsabah.gov.my/
  • 3. Submit health self-declaration to the government via MySejahtera mobile application.
  • 4. All International passengers transiting via KLIA to Sabah must undergo COVID-19 document check or testing at the airport's International Entrance before their connecting flight (within 24 hours) and undergo a 7-day mandatory quarantine at designated quarantine centres at their point of arrival in Sabah with a negative RT-PCR three (3) days before departing to Malaysia. Those traveling into Malaysia without the RT-PCR will undergo a 10-day mandatory quarantine.

 

Exit Requirements

  • 1. Passengers must undergo either a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test or Antigen Rapid Test Kits (RTK-Ag) detection swab test three (3) days before departure. Only those with negative results will be allowed to travel.
