Malaysia Airlines Enforces Use of Face Masks on Passengers

In mitigating the spread of COVID-19, Malaysia Airlines requires all passengers to bring and wear their own protective masks at the following touchpoints effective 23 April 2020:

  • Check-in
  • Boarding
  • In the aircraft cabin
  • Disembarkation
  • Collection of baggage on arrival

This requirement applies to all passengers (excluding infants) travelling on all Malaysia Airlines’ domestic, international and charter flights, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all passengers and airline employees.

For passengers’ own comfort and hygiene especially on long haul flights, you are advised to bring additional masks and hand sanitizers (subject to 100ml or Liquid Alcohol Gel (LAG) regulations) for your own use.  Passengers are also reminded to respect the personal space of others and observe social distancing where required and to comply with other health and safety measures in our pre-departure and arrival processes to ensure you have a safe journey.

The safety of all passengers and staff is of utmost importance to Malaysia Airlines.
