MAB Engineering Services and Impeccable Vintage Properties Ink Hangar 4 Lease Agreement

Kuala Lumpur, 26 February 2024 – MAB Engineering Services (“MAB Engineering”) and Impeccable Vintage Properties (“IVP”) have sealed a Lease Agreement for the Hangar 4 airframe maintenance facility at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (“SZB”) during the NAICO Malaysia China Aviation Forum. The Lease Agreement follows the Letter of Offer and Acceptance signed at the Selangor Aviation Show in September 2023. The agreement represents a pivotal milestone as MAB Engineering expands its capability and footprint in providing Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (“MRO”) services within the region. The leasing of Hangar 4 provides the operational capacity to accommodate one wide-body and two narrow-body aircraft simultaneously, thereby enhancing efficiency to support the needs of the aviation sector. Mohd Nadziruddin Mohd Basri, Chief Executive Officer of Aviation Services from Malaysia Aviation Group (“MAG”), said, "This leasing agreement marks a significant milestone in our dedication to expanding our capabilities, delivering exceptional services within the aviation industry. We are excited to enhance and strengthen our MRO services, which highlights our commitment to providing excellent service to our international clientele. This expansion enables us to elevate industry standards and cater to the evolving needs of our clients and stakeholders, further solidifying our position as a leader for MRO services in the aviation sector." Fuad Sharuji, Chief Executive Officer of IVP , echoed this sentiment: " Our investments in refurbishing the MRO hangars at SZB Airport is part of our strategic commitment to cement the growth of Malaysia’s aviation sector. We are extremely pleased that this agreement would provide an opportunity for MAG to establish its long-term presence and operations at Complex A.” Currently, MAB Engineering operates four (4) hangar facilities, including two (2) in KLIA, one (1) in Kota Kinabalu, and one (1) in SZB specifically for turboprop aircraft maintenance. This infrastructure provides a total capacity of up to 13 available aircraft bays dedicated to major and minor maintenance, as well as Heavy Maintenance Visits (HMV), with dedicated space for aircraft painting. Additionally, MAB Engineering's line maintenance operations cover 17 airport stations within Malaysia, offering full technical handling and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) support for aircraft transits, further enhancing its service capabilities across the nation. To meet the skill requirements and support the growth of the aviation industry, MAB Engineering also provides aircraft maintenance training programmes with various approved Part 147 aircraft-type courses and value-added trainee programmes, which combine CAAM Part 66 licenses and the Malaysia Skill Diploma. The NAICO Malaysia China Aviation Forum serves as a platform for fostering dialogue and cooperation between Malaysia and China in the aviation sector, further amplifying the significance of this momentous occasion.
