Malaysia Airlines named Industry Champion at the BrandLaureate Brand Icon Award
KLIA, 27 November 2018: Malaysia Airlines was announced Industry Champion in the aviation category at the BrandLaureate Brand Icon Leadership Awards 2018 gala dinner and awards ceremony last night.
The BrandLaureate Awards recognise achievement in branding amongst individuals and companies. Themed “Capitalize Your Leadership to Crystallize Your Brand”, this year’s awards honoured leaders who use innovation and strategies to drive their brands forward, which gives them the winning edge.
Malaysia Airlines’ Chief Executive Officer Captain Izham Ismail was accorded the award by BrandLaureate’s Chairman Tan Sri Rainer Althoff.
Captain Izham expressed his gratitude at being selected as a brand icon. “This is an unexpected win as we did not tender any submission to BrandLaureate for us to even be considered as a winner. I am grateful to them for recognising our efforts in elevating the Malaysia Airlines’ brand globally.”
Early this year the airline launched a global campaign which revisits the essence of Malaysia Airlines as the national carrier of the country. Branded Malaysian Hospitality Begins With Us, the tagline encompasses all aspects of the customer experience reflected in Malaysia Airline’s products and services including its newly refurbished lounges in KLIA, various digital innovations, new wide-body aircraft and the introduction of the latest Best of Malaysia menu on-board.
