Malaysia Airlines Advises Passengers to Allow Additional Travel Time to KLIA from 30 October to 1 November 2026
Malaysia Airlines advises passengers travelling from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) between 30 October and 1 November 2026 to allow additional time to reach the airport due to expected traffic congestion. Heavy traffic and road delays are expected in the surrounding areas and on highways leading to KLIA during the PETRONAS Grand Prix of Malaysia 2026 (MotoGP), held at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. While access to KLIA remains fully open, passengers are strongly advised to monitor real-time traffic updates from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), plan alternative routes where necessary and consider using the KLIA Ekspres train service to ensure prompt arrival at the airport. Passengers are advised to arrive at KLIA at least three (3) hours before the scheduled departure time for international flights and two (2) hours before the scheduled departure time for domestic flights. Check-in counters close 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time for both domestic and international flights. Malaysia Airlines appreciates passengers' understanding and cooperation during this peak travel period.
