New Distribution Capability (NDC) is a travel industry-supported programme launched by IATA. NDC is for the development and market adoption of a new, XML-based data transmission standard. The NDC Standard enhances communication capabilities between airlines and travel agents. It is open to any third party, intermediary, IT provider or non-IATA member, to implement and use.
- Essentially, NDC is a new distribution channel. It allows airlines to connect directly to Travel Agents/OTAs/Aggregators through an API.
- When an airline connects directly to sellers, they can provide more types of content, greater personalisation of products & higher chances of upselling.
Benefits of NDC?
NDC is an enabler to drive revenue, reduce costs and increase customer engagement. NDC allows airlines to modernise the way products are retailed to travel agents, corporates and travellers.

For MH's own NDC Seller UI, it will be available on version 18.1."
We have integrated with other Airlines that use different NDC version standards. Can we still integrate with MH and does it require a lot of effort?
Yes, you can still integrate with MH even though the standard versions differ. You may, however, require more effort as there are some slight differences in requirements between the 2 versions.
BSP (supports Cash and Credit/Debit Card payments)
End of October/early November 2022
There are 4 ways you can connect to MH API/NDC technology. Each option has its own set of requirements and considerations. The decision fully sits with you.
- Direct Connection to MH NDC (connect without an intermediary)
- Transact via Agent UI (Amadeus)
- Connect via GDS Aggregator (upcoming)
- Connect via Metasearch (upcoming)
More details will be provided soon. For queries regarding your market rollout, please contact your respective MH Regional Manager(s).
For now, MH NDC is not certified by IATA as we are still in the pilot phase. We are eligible to apply for NDC certification (also known as Airline Retailing Matrix (ARM)) once we go live with one of the pilot agents.
I'm a small agency, can I do NDC? I do not have the technology. Who can help me? Do you provide a front-end agency?
Yes, you can still implement NDC with MH by connecting via Amadeus Agent UI. Please approach your respective regional manager(s) for discussion.
"MH is working with Amadeus, leveraging their latest Amadeus Altea NDC version v18.1. MH NDC is ready for API version v21.3 by December 2022. For MH own NDC Seller UI, it will be on version 18.1.
MH NDC is ready for API version v21.3 by Oct 2022. This is for Travel Agent using their own direct API.
For MH own NDC Seller UI (NDC Portal for Agent) it will be on v18.1. This MH NDC portal for Travel Agent without their own UI & non-API
Although the minimum requirement from IATA is v17.2 but MH will be on the version 21.3, thus the Travel Agent needs to upgrade their version. This is required in order to support the latest NDC capability and functionality. "

Continuous pricing will not be available in this initial phase but it is MH NDC roadmap. (Timeline-TBA)
MH’s ancillary products (seats, bags, lounge, etc.) are available for sale in the NDC channel. In the future, MH will introduce tactical fare promotions in the NDC channel from time to time.
MH is open to negotiating incentive arrangements with agents. You may approach your respective account manager(s) for discussion.
The NDC agreement details specific terms and conditions, including negotiated commercial arrangements that must be agreed upon before an agent can transact through the channel.
Agents can work with MH to develop personalised offers tailored to their customers.
Currently, interline fares are not included.
Approximately 1-2 weeks. However, this also depends on the technology providers’ abilities to expedite access for you.
The NDC agreement will continue until it is terminated by either party.
Some of the benefits that customers will gain are personalised/differentiated fares & offers (including additional Ancillary services/products). With these benefits, it can cater to each individual's wants and needs.
As of now - NDC offers USP are almost standardized across all airlines except for commercial offers such as additional incentive, commission level etc.
"We are engaging with our API provider team, Amadeus (1A), to further verify to understand on this type of NEGO IT/BT fare not being supported. To assist in validation of this IT/BT fare, we are in the midst of working with our Pricing Team to file a test IT/BT fares.
As for the UK nett market fares and TBF - we need to test out certain filing conditions to be met for these types of fares. We will re validate again and get back to you as soon as possible
For the rest of the fares such the NMF/Published fares, student fares and VFR fares (which filed in ATPCO) are available/supported as intent. "
Depending on their NDC connectivity either through Direct API or MH NDC portal or Aggregator, however this is more towards Travel Agent’s own development cost.
