IRONMAN 2019 PARTICIPANTS TRAVELLING ON MALAYSIA AIRLINES
In anticipation of the Ironman 2019 event in Langkawi, Malaysia Airlines would like to advise participants travelling on the airline to conduct self-check-in via web, mobile or kiosk and proceed with their baggage and bicycles to the baggage drop counter at Rows B for Economy Class or D for Business Class. Bicycles will be accepted at KL International Airport (KLIA) three (3) hours prior to scheduled time of departure to Langkawi.
Meanwhile, beginning 27 October 2019, dedicated check-in counters will be available for participants from Langkawi International Airport at Counter 22 &23 for Business Class passengers and Counters 18-21 for Economy Class passengers.
Due to weight and space constraint on the B737-800 aircraft operating the Kuala Lumpur-Langkawi-Kuala Lumpur route, participants with checked-in bicycles, will need to sign a Limited Release Tag (LRT) at the check-in counter and subject to available cargo space at that time, some bicycles may arrive on the subsequent flight. You will be notified by the airline once your bicycle has safely arrived in Langkawi.
Those connecting via Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi on Malaysia Airlines flight MH1432 / MH1436 / MH1438 / MH1446 / MH1450 / MH1456, Malaysia Airlines assures you that all cargo is handled with care by our team and your bicycle will be kept in a secured space at Langkawi International Airport until they are collected at Malaysia Airlines’ Lost & Found Office located at the Arrival Hall.
