Firefly Commences Inaugural Flight from Kota Kinabalu to Miri

Kota Kinabalu, 22 November 2023 – Firefly, a subsidiary of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), proudly marked the commencement of its maiden flight from Kota Kinabalu International Airport (BKI) to Miri International Airport (MYY) via flight FY2500 that departed at 11:20am. To commemorate the momentous occasion, passengers departing from BKI on FY2500 and the return leg, from MYY on flight FY2501, received special goodies at the departure gate. Firefly's service expansion aims to enhance the link between Sabah and Sarawak, placing emphasis on the BKI-MYY route tailored for business travellers. This enhancement will offer improved itineraries and enhanced connectivity for travellers, facilitating seamless access to destinations within Sabah and Sarawak and beyond. This new route will operate twice weekly, utilising the airline's retrofitted Boeing 737-800 aircraft equipped with 189 seats in Economy Class and features ergonomic seats and legroom, personal device holder, and USB type A and C power outlets for guests to charge their devices from the comfort of their seat.
