MAB Engineering Services Accepts Offer to Lease Hangar 4 at Subang Airport from Impeccable Vintage Properties

Petaling Jaya, 11 Sept 2023 – MAB Engineering Services (MAB Engineering), a wholly-owned subsidiary under Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), has signed a Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOO) with Impeccable Vintage Properties (IVP), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Khazanah Nasional Berhad, for the lease of the Hangar 4 airframe maintenance facility located at Complex A, Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang (SZB). The signing of this LOO marks a significant milestone in MAB Engineering's continued growth and commitment to providing Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) services to the aviation community beyond Malaysia and the region, as it seeks to ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency in its operations. IVP, tasked by the Government of Malaysia to revive and redevelop Complex A, will undertake the reconditioning and refurbishment of Hangar 4’s MRO infrastructure and facilities. These include the incorporation of sustainability elements and a re-design of the hangar floor to cater for a maximum of five (5) production lines, capable of serving a variety of aircraft types from propellers, narrowbody and widebody. This visionary initiative positions MAB Engineering at the forefront of creating a dynamic aviation hub, in line with Malaysia’s Aviation Blueprint. Moreover, selection of this strategic location aligns with the government's Subang Airport Regeneration Plan (SARP), demonstrating MAB Engineering's commitment to supporting national aviation development efforts. Mohd Nadziruddin Mohd Basri, Chief Executive Officer of Aviation Services from MAG said, "MAB Engineering is dedicated to advancing Malaysia's aviation industry and contributing to its growth by actively exploring expansion opportunities for production lines and expanding its component repair management services that will make it a one stop solution MRO service provider. The decision to secure Hangar 4 underscores our commitment to maximising future potential in the global MRO market and reinforces our position as a key player in the aviation hub envisioned by MAG’s LTBP 2.0 aspirations of becoming Asia’s leading travel and aviation services group. As we continue to evolve and adapt to the dynamic aviation landscape, we remain committed to delivering exceptional maintenance services to meet the demands of the industry and our valued customers." Fuad Sharuji, Chief Executive Officer of IVP, echoed this sentiment, saying, "Our investments in refurbishing the MRO hangars at SZB Airport is part of our strategic commitment to cement the growth of Malaysia’s aviation sector, and attract leading and global companies to establish its long term presence and operations at Complex A. The MRO ecosystem will contribute to enhancing human capital through upskilling and creation of highly skilled jobs."
