Hindu Meal (HNML)

Suitable for Hindus, this is a non-vegetarian meal that does not contain any beef, veal, pork or their products. Typically prepared in an Indian cooking style. May contain lamb, chicken, fish, eggs, milk and dairy products. Should you require a vegetarian meal, a request for Vegetarian Hindu Meal (AVML) should be made.

Kosher Meal (KSML)

Our Kosher meals conform to Jewish religious laws, are prepared and packed by Kosher-certified manufacturers. KSML is now available on the following routes:-

  • Kuala Lumpur to London
  • London to Kuala Lumpur
  • Kuala Lumpur to Australia sectors
  • Australia sectors to Kuala Lumpur
  • Kuala Lumpur to Auckland
  • Auckland to Kuala Lumpur

Bland Meal (BLML)

Suitable for passengers suffering from stomach or gastrointestinal problems, this healthy meal does not contain highly seasoned and fried foods.

Diabetic Meal (DBML)

This menu is devised by a nutrition expert to include the same foods as normal diet but is limited in concentrated sugars, fats and salt. Suitable for both non-insulin dependent and insulin dependent diabetics for it contains complex carbohydrates and an increased amount of fiber.

Gluten Intolerant Meal (GFML)

These meals are exclusively designed for those who cannot tolerate gluten in their diet. Foods made with gluten – containing grains such as wheat, rye, oats, bran and barley are eliminated from this diet to prevent damage to the intestinal tract of patients with conditions such as celiac disease and non-tropical sprue.

Low Calorie Meal (LCML)

These meals are for customers on a low-calorie diet. It may contain lean meats, low-fat dairy, complex carbohydrates, and steamed or poached prepared foods as a cooking style. Does not contain fried or fatty foods, sugar, full cream dairy products, fatty meats, sweets, sauces such as mayonnaise, and salad dressing.

Low Fat Meal (LFML)

These meals are for customers on a low-fat diet with limited amounts of saturated fat. It may contain lean meats, poultry, fish, low-fat dairy products, egg whites, wholegrain bread, fresh fruit, and steamed or poached prepared foods as a cooking style. Does not contain fried or fatty foods, animal fats, egg yolks, full cream dairy products, shellfish, fatty meats, and nuts.

Low Lactose Meal (NLML)

No milk or dairy products will be included in these meals to prevent diarrhea and abdominal pain, which are the common symptoms for lactose intolerance conditions. Substitutes such as coffee-rich, milk-free baked good, mocha mix, nut milk and several other foods will be added to enhance the flavour and nutrient contents of the meals.

Low Salt Meal (LSML)

These meals are prepared especially for those with heart problems, hypertension, kidney problems or edema (fluid retention). No salt is used during their preparation and foods containing added salt are avoided. It may contain any fresh or frozen foods which are low in salt. Meals can be flavoured with herbs and spices. Does not contain additional salt, MSG or glutamates, baking powder, shellfish, salt-cured meats or fish, gravies, canned vegetables, fish, pickles, and salty cheese.

Vegetarian Vegan Meal (VGML)
With no products from animal sources, dairy, eggs, honey, onion and garlic, this meal is for passengers on a strict vegan diet.

Vegetarian Lacto-Ovo Meal (VLML)
For passengers on a vegetarian diet, this meal does not contain meat, fish and poultry but dairy and eggs may be used.

Vegetarian Hindu Meal (AVML)
Spicy and flavourful vegetarian meal with limited use of dairy products. This meal does not contain meat, poultry, fish and eggs.

Vegetarian Oriental Meal (VOML)
vegetarian meal prepared in the Oriental style perfect for vegetarians craving Chinese food. It does not contain any products from animal sources, dairy, eggs, onion and garlic.

Vegetarian Jain Meal (VJML)
For those on a strict Jain vegetarian diet, this meal is prepared Indian style according to Jain customs. It does not contain any products from animal sources, dairy, eggs, and root/bulbous vegetables.

Fruit Platter Meal (FPML)
For passengers wishing to eat a meal with no additives/preservatives.

Vegetarian Raw Meal (RVML)
This meal is a combination of raw fruits and vegetables only.

Child Meal (CHML)
Suitable for children between 2 and 12 years old, this meal is a combination of fun yet healthy food items.

Baby Meals (BBML)
Commercially prepared baby food combined with choices of vegetables or fruits, is perfect for children up to 2 years old.

Seafood Meals (SFML)

This is a Western-style meal which will not include any meat or poultry. All kinds of fresh seafood are available and will be served with vegetables and potatoes, bread or rice.

Special Meals (SPML)
For passengers who have other medical or religious requirements not stated in the list above, you may include specific details of ingredients to be avoided. Kindly check with our Reservations Desk or your nearest Malaysia Airlines office for meal availability.



Special meals are offered on selected flights only, depending on flight duration. These meals must be ordered and confirmed at least 24 hours before flight departure.
All food served onboard Malaysia Airlines is halal.
Muslim passengers flying with Malaysia Airlines codeshare partners are advised to request for Muslim Meals (MOML).
