If you are travelling on separate tickets on Malaysia Airlines flights which connect with our oneworld or codeshare partner carriers, you can now enjoy through check-ins over the counter. This means your baggage can be conveniently checked through to your end destination.
As of June 1, 2016, oneworld alliance members are no longer required to provide through check-in services for passengers and their baggage to their end destinations when travelling on different tickets on separate bookings. This means that if you purchase two or more separate tickets on separate bookings for travel with two or more oneworld airlines, you may need to check yourself and your baggage in at the end of each leg of your journey. But in the spirit of Malaysian Hospitality, we will continue to provide you with through check-in services to your end destination – as long as you start your journey with MH, and book your other tickets with oneworld airlines.

With the exception of flights to Kathmandu and Dhaka, all passengers must check-in online. Except for the following passengers, self-check-in is available to all passengers: Passengers with Special Service Requests who require assistance from our team. Passengers in groups of more than nine. Passengers who are on standby. Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Kota Bharu, Johor Bahru, and Langkawi all have check-in kiosks. Self-printing of baggage tags for Economy Class passengers from Kuala Lumpur International Airport To minimise check-in times, we will require Self-Print Baggage Tags for all domestic and international Economy Class flights departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) starting August 18, 2016. This service enables you to print your baggage tag and tag your baggage at the self-service check-in kiosks before continuing to the baggage drop counter. Instructions will be printed on the tag, and there will be standees at the airport to assist you with this. If you have checked in online or by mobile, you are advised to also print your baggage tag at the self-service check-in kiosk before heading to the baggage drop counter. To avoid delays at the baggage drop line, do ensure that your bags are within the baggage weight allowance. If your bags exceed the weight allowance, you will need to pay the required fees at the excess baggage counter before we can check your baggage in. *For the safety of all our guests, electronic devices which have been recalled by manufacturers will not be allowed to be checked in.
