Amal by Malaysia Airlines Set to Operate 110 Flights for 2026 Hajj Season

Amal by Malaysia Airlines commences 2026 Hajj operations with 110 flights transporting over 15,600 pilgrims.

KLIA, 18 April 2026 – Amal by Malaysia Airlines (Amal), the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage arm of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), has officially commenced the first phase of its 2026 Hajj operations. The inaugural flight MH8050 departed to Madinah (MED) from KLIA Terminal 1 (KUL) at 4:05am today, marking the start of this year’s pilgrimage season as the airline facilitates the travel of thousands of pilgrims on their sacred journey. The send-off ceremony was graced by YB Senator Dr. Zulkifli Hasan, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs); YB Senator Marhamah Rosli, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs); Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Hussain, Chairman of Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH); Tuan Haji Mustakim Mohammad, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) and Muhammad Najmi Mansor, Chief Operating Officer of Amal by Malaysia Airlines. Their presence underscores the strong support and collaboration between the Government, TH, and Amal in ensuring a smooth and meaningful pilgrimage experience. For the 2026 Hajj season, Amal will operate a total of 110 flights across two phases, transporting a combined total of 15,620 pilgrims. Phase 1 comprises 55 flights, transporting pilgrims to Madinah and Jeddah, while Phase 2 will see 55 return flights scheduled from 4 June 2026 to 30 June 2026.

Safety remains our top priority, and all our operations are conducted in close coordination with the relevant authorities, ensuring the well-being and peace of mind of our pilgrims at every stage of their journey.” The first flight of the 2026 Hajj season will be supported by 67 domestic feeder flights, providing smooth connectivity from cities including Penang (PEN), Alor Setar (AOR), Kota Bharu (KBR), Kuala Terengganu (TGG), Johor Bahru (JHB), Kuching (KCH), and Kota Kinabalu (BKI), to KUL. In addition, Amal will operate its flights with the A330-300 aircraft, offering 284 seats in a spacious configuration, prioritising a comfortable and seamless journey for every pilgrim. MAG, through its subsidiary MASkargo, is also offering door-to-door courier services for returning pilgrims. The service allows parcels and packages to be accepted at selected hotels in Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah, where they are consolidated and packed before being delivered directly to addresses in Malaysia. This provides pilgrims with a convenient way to send belongings home, helping them optimise their baggage allowance upon return. Amal continues to strengthen its position as a trusted Hajj and Umrah carrier, having been recognised as the No. 1 foreign carrier at the Hajj Convention 2025 in Jeddah, earning a distinguished world-class award. This recognition reflects Amal’s consistent commitment in its service delivery and providing a reliable pilgrimage experience. This is further supported by a five-year operational contract with TH from 2025 to 2029, underscoring continued confidence in Amal’s service quality and operational capability.
