Amal by Malaysia Airlines Strengthens Strategic Partnerships with Leading Umrah Agencies for 1448H Season

Sepang, 14 April 2026 – Amal by Malaysia Airlines (Amal), the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage arm of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), has formalised a strategic partnership with 14 leading Umrah agencies across Malaysia for the 1448H Umrah season (June 2026 – March 2027). This collaboration underscores Amal’s commitment to enhancing the pilgrimage experience, providing Malaysian travellers with a smooth, reliable and well-coordinated journey to the Holy Land. The signing ceremony was attended by Muhammad Najmi Mansor, Chief Operating Officer of Amal by Malaysia Airlines, along with representatives from the 14 appointed agencies. Each agency was carefully selected based on its proven reliability, adherence to regulatory standards, and alignment with Amal’s high expectations for service quality and operational integrity. Muhammad Najmi Mansor, Chief Operating Officer of Amal by Malaysia Airlines said, “Through this collaboration with 14 trusted Umrah agencies, Amal is deepening its strategic partnerships while expanding operational capacity to better serve Malaysian pilgrims. For the upcoming 1448H season, we are offering more than 223,000 seats, reflecting approximately 10% increase compared to the previous season, as we continue to enhance accessibility and support growing demand for pilgrimage travel.” Through this collaboration, pilgrims will benefit from clearer coordination between Amal and its appointed partners, supported by dedicated flight capacity, and structured scheduling. Confirmed seat allocations for appointed agents provide greater visibility across the Umrah travel supply chain, helping to address concerns around unsecured or speculative package offerings, while supporting a more transparent and orderly booking environment. Since its introduction, Amal has grown from operating a single daily flight to Jeddah and Madinah to three to four flights daily, carrying nearly 190,000 pilgrims in 2025 alone. This growth reflects strong market confidence as well as the airline’s continued commitment to strengthening its strategic network of partners. On a weekly basis, operations have also expanded significantly, from approximately 5 to 7 flights to 18 to 22 flights per week, including daily services to both key entry points, Jeddah and Madinah. This increase in frequency further enhances Amal’s capacity and flexibility to meet rising pilgrimage demand. This initiative also aligns with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC)’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance within the Umrah industry, promote responsible travel practices, and safeguard the interests of Malaysian pilgrims. Amal continues to closely monitor developments in the Middle East and applies robust risk assessment processes to ensure the safety of its flight operations and routing. All operational decisions, including flight paths, are made in coordination with relevant authorities, with the safety and well-being of Malaysian pilgrims as the highest priority.
