Duty-free restrictions in Malaysia If you’re departing from or transiting through Malaysia: You may only bring Liquids, Aerosols and Gels (LAGs) purchased from duty-free shops at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) located after the security screening point. Purchased items must be packed in a transparent, sealed plastic bag with the original receipt(s). If you are transiting at KLIA, please make sure to pack any other duty-free purchases made on a different part of your journey in a separate transparent, sealed plastic bag with their respective original receipt(s). If you're flying to Australia or the US, you can carry duty-free liquids, aerosols, and gels provided they're purchased in-flight or delivered by KLIA's duty-free personnel to the gate-hold room in a transparent, sealed bag with the original receipt(s). However, you are not allowed to carry duty-free items purchased from another part of your journey if you’re transiting in Malaysia on your way to Australia or the US. We advise you to follow these regulations when making duty-free purchases as any items which are not allowed will be disposed of at the boarding gate.

International duty-free restrictions Duty-free purchases are restricted when traveling to, from, or through certain countries, cities, and/or regions. Any duty-free item that does not meet restriction requirements will be discarded at the boarding gate. We advise you to purchase duty-free liquids, aerosols, and gels at the last point of your departure. To be safe, we recommend that you also check each country’s restrictions on the website of your departure airport before boarding your flight.
