Malaysia Airlines Celebrates Malaysia Day with Passengers in KL International Airport

KLIA, 16 September 2021: In conjunction with Malaysia Day, Malaysia Airlines crew and employees dressed in multi-ethnic traditional costumes welcomed passengers at the boarding gate in embracing the spirit of patriotism and unity Malaysians share. Passengers were also treated with specially made Malaysian flag cookies and complimentary hygiene kits prior to their boarding.

The special occasion was organised modestly in compliance with full COVID-19 SOP to allow the airline to celebrate the patriotic day as one nation and demonstrates the love for the country, in line with this year's theme "Malaysia Prihatin".

Malaysia Airlines' Director of Flight Operations, Captain Hamdan Che Ismail was also present to meet and greet the passengers travelling on Malaysia Airlines flights to Langkawi and Kota Kinabalu.

The inaugural flight to Langkawi under the travel bubble programme, MH1432 departed Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 9:35am carrying the maximum capacity of 160 passengers and seven crew onboard Malaysia Airlines Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Upon arrival at Langkawi International Airport, the aircraft was welcomed with a water cannon salute and received by the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Yang Berhormat Dato’ Sri Nancy Shukri.
