Malaysia Airlines Sets Foot into Darwin, Australia
1 November 2013, Sepang: Malaysia Airlines’ inaugural commercial flight MH145 to Darwin will take off from KL International Airport (KLIA) at 10.35pm today and is scheduled to arrive at Darwin at 5.10am tomorrow. The return flight MH144 departs Darwin at 6.00am to arrive at Kuala Lumpur at 9.20am.
The new Kuala Lumpur-Darwin-Kuala Lumpur route will be operated with the new and improved 160-seater B737-800. With a configuration of 16 business and 144 Economy seats, the B738 provides guests with a premium travel experience with in-flight entertainment system at every seat.
According to Malaysia Airlines’ Group Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Jauhari Yahya, “We see great potential in Darwinand Australia at large. We already fly to five cities in Australia - Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, and have recently increased frequencies to Melbourne and Perth. The addition of Darwin into our network demonstrates our optimism for the Australian market for us. We're excited to be connecting to Darwin in the north!".
