Malaysia Airlines Offers 'Favourite Spot' on its Flights

Subang, 11 September 2011 : Malaysia Airlines passengers flying Economy Class on international routes can now choose their ‘Favourite Spot’ as they perform their booking online through

The introduction of this advanced seat selection option follows the overwhelming response the service received on domestic routes during its initial introduction in December 2010.

Introduced on international sectors since mid July 2011, the ‘Favourite Spot’ provides Economy Class passengers the freedom to select the best seats that suit their needs and preferences at a nominal fee.

The option is available for all Malaysia Airlines flights, with the exception of codeshare and MASwings flights.

“One out of every three bookings through our corporate website registers a preferred seat selection, which is 35% of our daily bookings. This is another enhancement that gives our customers better control over their travel experience” said Dato’ Dr. Amin Khan, Executive Vice President of Commercial Strategy for Malaysia Airlines.

“It provides an assurance and peace of mind that they will have their preferred seats secured for their flights even before arriving at the airport, which is why it is a standard offering by many major airlines,” he further added.

With the Favourite Spot option, passengers can choose from two seat categories, Premium seats that cover the first few rows and emergency exit seats, and Standard seats encompassing other seats in the Economy Class cabin.

Extending the advanced seat selection option to include international flights enhances the MH experience for travellers flying throughout the national carrier’s network, especially on long-haul flights. It is also a testament of Malaysia Airlines’ continued investment in value-added online services for greater customer convenience.
