Malaysia Airlines adjusts flight arrivals and departures in Kota Kinabalu

Arising from the temporary closure of Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) yesterday evening (25 October 2012) due to non-functioning runway lights, Malaysia Airlines has revised its flight schedules into and out of KKIA which is now open for daytime flight departures and landing until further advise.

One flight from Kuala Lumpur that had already departed yesterday evening for KKIA, was also diverted to Labuan when the airport closure was announced. Six flights were cancelled and another four have been retimed, details as follows:


MH2628/25 October 2012 for Kuala Lumpur/Kota Kinabalu
MH2606/25 October 2012 for Kuala Lumpur/Kota Kinabalu
Mh2042/25 October 2012 for Kota Kinabalu/Sandakan
MH2637/25 October 2012 for Kota Kinabalu/Kuala Lumpur
MH2603/25 October 2012 for Kota Kinabalu/Kuala Lumpur
MH2043/25 October 2012 for Sandakan/Kota Kinabalu

Passengers of cancelled flights for Kuala Lumpur/Kota Kinabalu/Kuala Lumpur will be reaccommodated on other Malaysia Airlines flights for them to continue the journeys.
Those affected by the cancellation of Kota Kinabalu/Sandakan/Kota Kinabalu flights are being transferred to other Malaysia Airlines and MASwings flights operating this route.
