IN-FLIGHT SPECIAL MEALS

Malaysia Airlines offers up to 20 Special Meals to suit your religious, medical and dietary requirements. Furthermore, all meals served on Malaysia Airlines are halal and prepared in strict compliance to halal requirements.


How Do I Order My Special Meal

You may order your special meal at least 24 hours before your scheduled flight via:

  1. Your online flight booking process
  2. Our Global Customer Contact Centre at :1300 88 3000 (within Malaysia) or +603 7843 3000 (outside Malaysia)
  3. Our Reservation and Ticketing Office
  4. Your travel agents

 

Steps to Order Special Meal Online

  1. Book your flight online  
  2. Add passenger information
  3. Tick “I'd like to add special request for this traveler"
  4. In the Special Request dropdown menu, select your choice of meal
  5. Proceed to payment
  6. End of transaction

Note
    Special meals are not offered on flights with less than one hour duration.

Muslim Meal (MOML)
Rest assured that Malaysia Airlines serves only halal food onboard. Food is prepared according to Muslim rites and prescriptions.

Hindu Meal (HNML)
Suitable for Hindu practitioners, our non-vegetarian meal does not contain any beef, veal, pork or raw/smoked fish. If you require a vegetarian meal, a request for AVML should be made.

Kosher Meal (KSML)
Our Kosher meals conform to Jewish religious laws, are prepared and packed by Kosher-certified manufacturers. However, KSML is not available on certain flights from India, the Middle East, Taiwan and ASEAN.

Bland Meal (BLML)
Suitable for passengers suffering from stomach or gastrointestinal problems, this healthy meal does not contain highly seasoned and fried foods.

Diabetic Meal (DBML)
This meal does not have added sugars.

Gluten Intolerant Meal (GFML)
Perfect for gluten intolerant passengers unable to consume foods which contain gluten. May contain meat, poultry, fish, rice, potato and dairy products.

Low Calorie Meal (LCML)
For those wishing to follow a calorie-restricted diet, this meal fulfills that need. May have increased complex carbohydrates, high fibre and low fat.

Low Fat Meal (LFML)
Prepared using lean cuts of meat, poultry or fish, low fat dairy products and low in saturated fatty acids, this meal is the one for passengers wishing to follow a fat-restricted diet.

Low Lactose Meal (NLML)
Dairy products are not used during the preparation of this meal for lactose-intolerant passengers.

Low Salt Meal (LSML)
For those on a sodium-restricted diet, this meal does not have added salt. 

Vegetarian Vegan Meal (VGML)
With no products from animal sources, dairy, eggs, honey, onion and garlic, this meal is form passengers on a strict vegan diet.

Vegetarian Lacto-Ovo Meal (VLML)
For passengers on a vegetarian diet, this meal does not contain meat, fish and poultry but dairy and eggs may be used.

Vegetarian Hindu Meal (AVML)
For the Hindu vegetarian, this spicy and flavourful vegetarian meal with limited use of dairy products will tantalise your tastebuds. This meal does not contain meat, poultry, fish and eggs.

Vegetarian Oriental Meal (VOML)
This vegetarian meal prepared in the Oriental style is perfect for vegetarians craving Chinese food. It does not contain any products from animal sources, dairy, eggs, onion and garlic.

Vegetarian Jain Meal (VJML)
For those on a strict Jain vegetarian diet, this meal is prepared Indian style according to Jain customs. It does not contain any products from animal sources, dairy, eggs, and root/bulbous vegetables.

Fruit Platter Meal (FPML)
Prepared from fruits only, this meal is for passengers wishing to eat a meal with no additives/preservatives.

Vegetarian Raw Meal (RVML)
Prepared for raw vegetable vegetarians, this meal is a combination of raw fruits and vegetables only.

Child Meal (CHML)
Suitable for children between 2 and 12 years old, this meal is a combination of fun yet healthy food items.

Baby Meal (BBML)
The commercially prepared baby food combined with choices of vegetables or fruits is perfect for children up to 2 years old.

Seafood Meal (SFML)
Prepared according to passenger preference, this meal may contain fish and/or seafood prepared according to local specifications. It does not contain meat or poultry

Special Meal (SPML)
For passengers who have other medical or religious requirements not stated in the list above, you may include specific details of ingredients to be avoided. Kindly check with our Reservations Desk or your nearest Malaysia Airlines office for meal availability.

Special meals are offered on selected flights only, depending on flight duration. These meals must be ordered and confirmed at least 24 hours before flight departure.
All food served onboard Malaysia Airlines is halal.
