Malaysia Airlines-American Airlines Codeshare Adds 260 Connections Across USA

Seamless daily frequency to major cities across USA

Subang, 9 July 2014: Now getting across the United States of America is even more convenient with 260 new domestic connections included in the Malaysia Airlines – American Airlines codeshare.

The two oneworld members, Malaysia Airlines and American Airlines, enhanced their current codeshare agreement by adding 260 domestic connecting flights to and from Los Angeles (LAX) and New York (JFK).

According to Malaysia Airlines’ Group Chief Executive Officer, Ahmad Jauhari Yahya, “Malaysia Airlines is pleased to offer our guests more connections across the USA through our codeshare partner American Airlines. Travel seamlessly on our “MH” code flights on a number of domestic services operated by American Airlines between Los Angeles and New York to major cities like Austin, Dallas, Washington, Orlando, Miami, Chicago, St. Louis and more.”

Malaysia Airlines initially signed a codeshare agreement with American Airlines in March 2013, codesharing to 5 cities in the USA. This grew to 16 cities with close to 200 flights per week. From 1 August 2014, 11 more cities will be added via Los Angeles and New York which will eventually add another 260 domestic flights.

In addition Malaysia Airlines will codeshare on American Airlines services to Dallas from Hong Kong and Seoul from 11 July and 24 July respectively.

“We are happy to strengthen our relationship with American Airlines. As one of the world’s leading airlines and a major force in the USA, Malaysia Airlines is able to confidently offer our guests the same level of service from end-to end”, said Ahmad Jauhari.

Customers of Malaysia Airlines can fly on American Airlines’ trans-Pacific services via Tokyo, Incheon and Hong Kong to Los Angeles, Dallas and Chicago, before proceeding to the other cities in the USA.

For Malaysia Airlines passengers flying trans-Atlantic, connections on American Airlines from London, Paris and Frankfurt will connect to New York, Dallas, Miami, Chicago and Raleigh Durham, and more domestic destinations from there.
