Malaysia Airlines launch MATF & Global Low Fares campaign, Great Deals for Everyone
Subang (22 June 2009): It's the best time to travel now with Malaysia Airlines as the airline launches its Global Low Fares campaign, offering Great Deals for Everyone in its effort to simulate the demand for travel.
In Malaysia, the Malaysia Airlines Travel Fair (MATF) makes a comeback with attractive prices to all destinations. For the first time ever, customers purchasing low fares will be eligible to earn Enrich miles, entitling them to the various perks and benefits of a frequent flyer programme.
In addition, there will be a free return ticket for every 500th customer who books his/ her ticket online at malaysiaairlines.com. The destination for this ticket will be the same as the ticket purchased.
Malaysia Airlines Chairman, Tan Sri Dr Munir Majid said, "There's every reason to travel with Malaysia Airlines with such attractive fares and benefits. Go for short breaks, spend quality family time together, experience the world, or visit family and friends.
"As Malaysians know they can enjoy great deals with MATF, I expect tickets to be snapped up quickly. In the MATF held in February this year, we made RM100 million in sales."
One of the more attractive MATF offerings is that customers can travel immediately as the travel period is from 29 June until 15 December 2009.
The all-inclusive one way fares for MATF which starts today until 5 July 2009 begins from RM118 to Singapore, RM198 to ASEAN countries, RM428 to South Asia, RM488 to Australia and RM898 to Europe.
Concurrently, Malaysia Airlines is offering great deals globally, in Asean, South Asia, North Asia, Australia, Middle East, Americas and South Africa. These low fares campaigns will run for 5 days, starting today until 26 June 2009.
"For the past 6 months, we have been running low fares campaigns in these markets. Our campaigns have been well received as customers know that we offer value for money. They can enjoy great savings and fly with a 5 Star airline.
"We will continue to aggressively push sales in these markets. We plan to offer more than 70 travel fairs globally until 2010. These are targeted campaigns which are matched to the different consumer segments and their buying behaviour," said Malaysia Airlines Senior General Manager, Sales, Dato' Bernard Francis.
In the past 6 months, the global low fares campaign has successfully increased sales by 100% while market specific initiatives such as the Malaysia Airlines Travel Fair in UK has increased the number of passengers carried by 50%.
"Our MAS Stimulus Package, offering 9 fare deals, is also doing well as there is something for everyone, a deal to match the size of your wallet. We have seen sales increasing by up to 30%," Francis added.
