Two More Days To Enjoy The Best Deals At Malaysia Airlines Travel Fair 2012

Subang, 15 January 2012: Malaysia Airlines scored all high in the Malaysia Airlines Travel Fair (MATF) this year, with affordable deals for business and leisure travels on both domestic and international routes.

To date, the annual promotions has attracted the most customers through Malaysia Airlines’ website, with 46% of deals purchased online from the beginning of the promotion on 10 February 2012, and another 45% of customers getting their bargains through travel agents.

With just two more days to go, the trend shows that Bangkok is the most preferred international destination, with Hong Kong and London coming in as second and third favourite destinations.

Almost a quarter of the total customers opted for the Thai capital city for their next travels, while 16.5% and 11.8% of customers snapped up return tickets to Hong Kong and London respectively.

Malaysia Airlines’ Regional Senior Vice President for Malaysia and ASEAN, Muzammil Mohamad said, “Our customers appear to be opting for more prudent shopping and holiday destinations in the region like Bangkok and Hong Kong. Consumers have also shown great interest in our flights to the three major cities of mainland China namely Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing (23.5%) and Tokyo (9.6%). London continues to remain the choice long haul holiday destination of our customers in Malaysia due to our traditional links with United Kingdom. We expect this trend to continue for the rest of the promotional period until 17 February.”

On the domestic front, the excellent connectivity offered by Malaysia Airlines between KLIA in West Malaysia and the cities of Kuching, Miri, Kinabalu, and Tawau in East Malaysia continues to be in greater demand with 67.8% of customers opting for attractive fares on this segment. Langkawi is the most favourite West Malaysian destination and customers have also shown great interest in Kuala Terengganu, Penang and Kota Bahru as well.
