Terbang—A Malaysian Story” Hits More Than 200,000 Views

Malaysia Airlines and Enrich embark on social media to inculcate the spirit and pride of celebrating Merdeka

Subang, 29 August 2014 – In the spirit of Merdeka, Malaysia Airlines’ Social Media team recently embarked on a project to produce a short film called “Terbang” to anchor its #FLYINGHIGH campaign.

The short film is only available online at on YouTube or on Facebook.

Malaysia Airlines hopes to reach out to more guests and potential customers with an inspiring message. “Terbang” represents the spirit and values of fellow Malaysians who dream of flying high to carry the name of their country with pride and passion.

Depicting the Malaysian wau (kite) as a symbol of Malaysian heritage from the East Coast, the short film signifies Malaysia Airlines’ brand and how Malaysians have flown the Nation’s flag, Jalur Gemilang, high around the world for the last 42 years.

Accompanying the short film is a catchy tune specially written by Malaysia Airlines’ Social Media Ambassador, Yuna called “Langit”. The beautiful tune encapsulates the spirit of celebrating independence accorded to all Malaysians who strive hard and move forward without forgetting our heritage and multi-faceted traditions.

“Terbang” complements the earlier marketing campaign #STAYSTRONG which was publicised on both Malaysia Airlines Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Meanwhile, Enrich, Malaysia Airlines’ Frequent Flyer Program pays tribute to the love that unites Malaysians with the #MH57Merdeka Instagram Contest. Following the success of #MH56 Instagram contest last year, #MH57Merdeka will run from today to 30 September 2014.

This year, participants stand to win a Grand Prize of 570,000 Enrich Miles.

To stand a chance to win, participants simply need to upload an image or a video consisting of 5 to 7 people depicting love and unity towards Malaysia in the most interesting manner together with a caption of not more than 50 words in length on his or her Instagram account. Submission of an entry should include:

a)    A tag to the MAS instagram account @malaysiaairlines

b)    The hashtag #MH57Merdeka

c)    Enrich membership no. of all individuals in photo

To qualify, participants will also need to fly with Malaysia Airlines to any destination within the period of 1 April 2014 until 30 September 2014.

These are just simple steps for Enrich members to win 570,000 Enrich Miles Grand Prize, followed by 350,000 Enrich Miles for the 1st runner up, 220,000 Enrich Miles for the 2nd runner up and 2 x consolation prizes to the KLIA Satelite and Regional Golden Lounge Vouchers.
