Getting there

Taxis are probably the easiest way to get to the city centre, which is just 8 kilometres (5 miles) or a 15-minute ride away. Taxi coupons may be purchased for about MYR 25 from the taxi kiosk located outside the Arrival Hall in Terminal 1. A surcharge applies after midnight.

If you’re on a tight budget, you can take a short walk to the main road and catch a public bus or privately run minibus to the city centre for about MYR 1.50.

Airport shuttle
You may also book a private or shared airport shuttle direct to the city. Some hotels offer a complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport, so be sure to ask when booking.

Car hire
There are several car rental companies located at Level 1 (Arrivals), Terminal 1, offering vehicles ranging from compact cars to 4WDs. You will be required to present a local driver's license or an International Driver's Permit.
