Malaysia Airlines advises Passengers of Possible Flight Interruptions

Kuala Lumpur, 24 June 2013 - Due to the current haze situation which has deteriorated in parts of Malaysia over the last few days, Malaysia Airlines is advising passengers on the possibility of last minute flight cancellation and retiming.
 
Specific stations are under close watch for possible closure or interruptions, namely Kuantan’s Sultan Ahmad Shah Airport, Kota Baru’s Sultan Ismail Petra Airport, Kuala Terengganu’s Sultan Mahmud Airport, Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Kota Kinabalu International Airport.
 
“Malaysia Airlines is working closely with airport authorities in monitoring the situation and will adjust our flight operations into and out of the affected airports when necessary. Safety is of paramount importance at Malaysia Airlines. Ensuring our guests reach their destination safely will always be our main priority,” said Malaysia Airlines Director of Operations, Captain Izham Ismail.
 
Malaysia Airlines has formed a haze secretariat to monitor the situation on an hourly basis and provide updates three times daily.
