Subang, 27 April 2012 – Malaysia Airlines hosted its “Travel Agents Award Night 2011” last week at the Holiday Inn, Glenmarie Subang to recognise and commend Malaysian travel agents that contributed the highest level of support to the airline over the last year.
More than 80 travel industry representatives attended the event where Malaysia-based travel agents were presented Gold, Diamond and Platinum awards based on their outstanding business support to Malaysia Airlines in 2011.
The awards were presented by Malaysia Airlines’ Group CEO, Ahmad Jauhari Yahya and Regional Senior Vice President Malaysia & ASEAN Muzammil Mohamad.
Speaking at the ceremony, Muzammil Mohamad thanked the guests and praised them for their steadfast support for the ongoing business partnership with the national carrier that has grown steadily over the years.
“The revenue contribution for Malaysia Airlines through distribution channels in Malaysia has experienced a steady year on year growth and a large part of this business came from travel agents. “Although this is fairly decent in this competitive environment, we strongly believe that this can be further improved with your support.” said Muzammil.
“We value the role of the travel trade industry in reaching out and encouraging customers to fly with us and experience our award-winning premium service. We will continue to work together with our travel trade partners like you all to ensure we further sustain and develop our business growth,” he added.

Commenting on the win, it’s Managing Director, Thomas Chong said “We are indeed honored and thrilled to receive this Platinum Award from our national carrier, Malaysia Airlines. This achievement would not been possible without the support of my Holiday Tours team as well as MAS supporting team. We will continue to lend our support and further strengthen our partnership to greater heights."
