Malaysia Airlines Showcases Innovative Product Offerings at GLC Open Day
Kuala Lumpur, 24 June 2011 : Malaysia Airlines, one of the many Government Linked Companies (GLC) participating in the inaugural GLC Day from 24 to 26 June 2011at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), is actively showcasing its latest offerings for customers to experience seamless and hassle-free air-travel related options.
These options, in line with the event theme ‘Achieving Customer Excellence Through Continuous Product Innovation’ are offered through outreaches where customers will be engaged by Malaysia Airlines ticketing staff promoting several distribution channels for them to enjoy best air travel related deals.
Malaysia Airlines’ Executive Vice President for Commercial Strategy, Dato Dr Amin Khan said, “This is the first time we are bringing together at a public event, the latest of the various distribution channels that provide common capabilities for the benefit of customers. These will enlighten them on the wide scope of reservations and ticketing options that the national airline has for passengers.”
Some of the distribution channels showcased at the Malaysia Airlines booth located in Hall A of KLCC are the web booking facility, MHMobile, MHBuddy and MHKiosk – iPads.
‘We are mobilizing 16 staff to ensure the success of this innovative product showcase. Early visitors will also receive free gifts,’ added Dr Amin.
The most interesting Malaysia Airlines attraction at the GLC Open Day is the ‘i-Pad on the move’ concept. Staff of Malaysia Airlines equipped with i-Pads will be constantly on their walks within a 5 meter radius of the Malaysia Airlines booth in the event venue to demonstrate to visitors the quick, smooth and hassle-free option for booking, paying and receiving their electronic air tickets as well as check-in. These records created will allow customers to immediately receive booking details in their hand phones.
To support this initiative, Malaysia Airlines is offering special fares for visitors to the GLC Open day and also organizing a quiz contest where air tickets to selected Malaysian domestic destinations are offered as prizes.
In addition, the visual attractions of Malaysia Airlines ‘Catch it if you Scan’ theme, Giant displays of Black Berries, IPhone 4 and Android are expected to draw customers to the Malaysia Airlines booth.
Customers with latest technology hand phones can scan the designated barcode and this will activate a pop up URL link that will appear and lead to flymas.mobi website. For access to this link, customers need to download the appropriate URL and once this is done, they will get the feel of latest facilities offered thru MHMobile such as booking flights, enrich enquiries, check-ins, flight status, current timetable, baggage tracer and last but not least deals and offers.
At the counter in the Malaysia Airlines booth, two dedicated staff will be ready to do bookings and selling domestic and international air tickets at the present ‘Great Deals, Dream Getaways’ fares. The exclusive aspect of this offer is the service fees of RM60 for international and RM30 for domestic travel will be waived. E-tickets will be emailed immediately to the customers instead of traditional printed E-tickets.
