Malaysia Airlines Continues Excellent Prominence and Award Winning Traits
Subang, 10 May 2011 : Malaysia Airlines, having won more than 100 awards and recognitions for product and service excellence for the past 10 years, is continuing its winning streak this year.
Early this month, Malaysia Airlines received the "Innovative Leadership in Globalisation” award for the airline sector, in recognition of it consistent perseverance, discipline, endurance and investment for leading international excellence and achievements in various aspects of commercial airline operations.
The award from the Malaysian Institute of Directors (MID) was presented by Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak to Malaysia Airlines’ Chairman, YBhg Tan Sri Dr Munir Majid at the MID Annual Corporate Leaders Banquet held in Kuala Lumpur last week.
This inaugural award by MID was to honour top Malaysian companies for their globalization endeavours and achievements in thirteen key sectors, including air transport.
Meanwhile, in the annual ‘Magazine of the year’ survey by the ‘Advertising + Marketing’ monthly published last month, survey respondents voted Malaysia Airlines’ monthly inflight magazine ‘Going Places’ to the third position in the ‘Regional Travel magazine of the Year’ category.
This popular Malaysia Airlines’ publication, with a monthly readership of 1.2 million, was recognised for its Unique Selling Proposition (USP) of attracting a very captive audience by being available to all passengers on the carrier’s flights and its Golden Lounges.
Commenting on these two achievements, Tan Sri Munir said, “At Malaysia Airlines, we always strive to deliver premium quality products and services to our customers. We are also committed to these same qualities in our communications outreach to our guests and it is through such values, the readership for ‘Going Places’ is experiencing a steady growth after a content overhaul with a new look and feel. This has increased support by quality product brands that have acknowledged the potential vast consumer purchasing power by advertising in our inflight publication.”
“In addition, the recognition of the national airline’s leadership in global and innovative achievements is also very timely. This has been largely possible through the ability and commitment of our entire workforce in continuously introducing new products and services. We are indeed grateful to the Malaysian Institute of Directors for the award, as well as to our customers for their support in establishing Malaysia Airlines as one of the leading international full service carriers in Asia,” he added.
