Lahad Datu reserves the intimacy of a small town for laidback living before the traveller jumps off to the three natural wonders surrounding it. 70 kilometres off Lahad Datu, upon a sprawling 438 square kilometers of undisturbed land, lies the Danum Valley Conservation Area. The conservation area is one of the world's most complex ecosystems.
50 kilometres away is the Madai Baturong Forest Reserve Nature Centre, with 3,436.5 hectares of green. The Tabin Wildlife Reserve also beckons with its mineral-rich mud volcanoes and salt springs which offers natural therapies at their best.
