Malaysia Airlines to Assist with Travel for Teachers

Subang, 16 May 2014: Malaysia Airlines handles travel arrangements for teachers nationwide whilst they are on duty. This includes special fares for teachers and managing group check-ins at KLIA, as part of giving teachers value and convenience.

Malaysia Airlines went further in its support for teachers this Hari Guru 2014 celebration by sponsoring four Business Class tickets to Jeddah for two winners of "Tokoh Guru Kebangsaan" and "Tokoh Kepimpinan Pendidikan Kebangsaan".

This year "Tokoh Guru Kebangsaan" was awarded to Y.M. Tengku Azuan Binti Tengku Mohamed and "Tokoh Kepimpinan Pendidikan Kebangsaan" was awarded to Tan Sri Alimuddin Bin Mohd Dom. The tickets were presented this morning, with Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister in attendance.

Malaysia Airlines will sponsor prizes in conjunction with the "Tokoh Guru" awards for the next four years.

According to Malaysia Airlines’ Regional Senior Vice President for Malaysia, Dato' Muzammil Mohamad, “Teachers are the pillar of a nation given the various contributions they have made towards the development of a society. This collaboration with the Ministry of Education is Malaysia Airlines' way to contribute back to society.  Malaysia Airlines supports the teachers, for without them, our own MAS employees would not be where we are today, flying Malaysia’s flag with great pride around the world.”
