Subang, 27 February 2014: Malaysia Airlines Haj & Charter will be working together with Ankeyunda to establish a strategic partnership for the provision of scheduled air charter service between Kuala Lumpur to sectors in China beyond the airline’s network.

Both air charter services signed a Memorandum of Understanding today at The Saujana Hotel, Subang to establish the service-user business arrangements.

The MOU was inked by Malaysia Airlines’ Vice President of Haj & Charter, Yazid Mohamed and Ankeyunda (M) Sdn Bhd’s Board Chairman, Han Weihua, witnessed by Malaysia Airlines’ Senior Vice President Global Sales and Distribution, Duncan Bureau, Malaysia Airlines’ Senior Manager, Haj & Charter, Hisham Haron, Executive Director of Ankeyunda, Duan Lian as well as Strategic Development Director of Ankeyunda (M) Sdn. Bhd., Sheon Soo Huan.

Also present were Senator Raja Datuk Ropiaah Raja Abdullah, Member of Dewan Negara Malaysia and senior representatives from the Embassy of People’s Republic of China in Malaysia.

Speaking at the MOU signing, Malaysia Airlines’ Senior Vice President Global Sales and Distribution, Duncan Bureau said “We are delighted to begin a partnership with Ankeyunda as this enables Malaysia Airlines to strengthen its presence in China. This makes good business sense as China is one of the biggest tourism markets in the world and we will be able to develop and operate in this region.”

“We look forward to exploring the benefits and potential structure with Ankeyunda to provide air transportation between both countries,” he added.

“Ankeyunda has been working together with 30 major distributors and about 500 sub distributors in China to bring tourists from all over the world. We are proud to be in partnership with Malaysia’s 5-star carrier, Malaysia Airlines,” said Duan Lian from Ankeyunda.

He added, “With this partnership, we hope to be able to connect between 15 cities including Xi’an, Harbin, Chongqing, Wuhan and Tianjin, which will cover the second and third tier cities in China to Malaysia.”
