Malaysia Airlines Opens New Ticket Office In Yogyakarta, Indonesia

Yogyakarta, 09 March 2011 : Malaysia Airlines has launched its new ticket office in Yogyakarta City at Melia Purosani Hotel, further reinforcing the airline’s commitment towards enhancing the customer’s travel experience by offering value and convenience.

Customers to the Malaysia Airlines’ new ticket will enjoy all services for the national carrier, Firefly, MASwings, Enrich, MASholidays, and more. The opening hours are from 8.00am to 5.00pm from Monday to Friday to ensure that customers’ travel needs are taken care of.

“Travelling is not merely about the experience inside the plane. It is also about all parts of the journey – from planning to buying the ticket for the entire trip.

The ticket office for us is a key component of our customers’ purchase experience whether they are passengers or travel agents,” said Malaysia Airlines ASEAN Regional Senior Vice President, Muzammil Mohamad.

He added, “As we create new products to match the size of our customers’ wallets, our team is able to help customers decide on the right choices as they engage over the ticket counter.

“Yogyakarta is the home to more than 50 institutions for higher education in Indonesia. This ticket office taps the growing commercial, student and residential areas within Yogyakarta and in line with Malaysia Airlines’ continued efforts to further strengthen our market presence in Indonesia. We have been operating this route since 2008. Passenger that we have carried has been increasing 20-30% every year. Last year, we have carried almost 30,000 passengers between both cities.“ 

This Yogyakarta ticket office is the sixth Malaysia Airlines ticket offices in Indonesia. The others are located in Jakarta, Denpasar, Bandung, Surabaya and Medan.

In conjunction with the Ticket Office opening, customers will be able to purchase all-inclusive promotional return airfares from as low as USD190 to Kuala Lumpur. Other destinations are also on offer and the promotion kicks off from 10 – 15 March 2011 with travel period of 10 March until 30 June 2011.

Malaysia Airlines operates 3 times weekly flights from Yogyakarta to Kuala Lumpur. Flight MH 856 departs Yogyakarta every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at 11.40am and arrives in Kuala Lumpur at 3.10pm. The inbound flight MH857 departs Kuala Lumpur at 9.20am on same day and arrive Yogyakarta at 10.55am.

The direct service between the cities is operated using a Boeing 737-400 aircraft with 128 economy and 16 Business class seats, providing a total weekly capacity of 432 seats in each direction.
